A shed, also known as Garden Shed is typically a simple structure in a residential or commercial yard that is used for storage,hobbies, or as a workshop. Garden, Storage Sheds vary considerably in the complexity of their construction design  and their actual size, from small open-sided tin-roofed structures to large wood-framed sheds with shingled rooftops, windows, outlets. Sheds used on other farms or in industry can be larger in size.

A residential garage is a part of a home, or an associated building structure , designed or used for storing a vehicle or vehicles. In some places the term is used synonymously with carport, though that term normally describes a structure that is not completely enclosed.

A carport is a covered structure used to offer limited protection to cars from harmful elements. The structure can either be free standing mounted in the yard or attached to a wall. Unlike most structures a carport does not have four walls, and usually has one or two. Carports offer less protection than garages but allow for more ventilation.
